Serviced Apartments are becoming an attractive option for mid- to long-term guests in Japan, where Oakwood, a pioneer in the industry in the 1960s, manages apartments for business and leisure travelers in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and Thailand.

In Tokyo, Oakwood is about to open its ninth property on January 15th, licensed to cater to short-stay travelers.

The concept is still relatively unknown to most travellers, and most Japanese people are not fully aware of services such as concierge, front desk and housekeeping available in most Serviced Apartments.
