Joyce Cawthorpe, ASAP’s Marketing/Media Manager represented the association at the SO!Apart conference in Berlin this week on 22/23 November.
There was much excitement around the very significant growth forecast for Germany at the conference, which had a record attendance of 200 delegates including investors, operators, and distributors.
Anett Gregorius, Founder and Owner of Apartmentservice (Germany) who runs this annual conference confirmed in her opening address that the German market is forecast to grow by some 40% by 2019 which translates into a further 13,000 new serviced apartments coming onto the German market in the next 2 years.
Key topics debated at the event were around:
- Phenomenal growth of the sector and with so many new entrants, many different types of product coming on to the market making it a very dynamic and ever-changing market place
- Urbanisation: key future trend which will impact on the serviced apartment and co-working/co-living sectors
- Apartment size and the trend towards ‘micro’ apartments
- The ‘apartment of the future’ – a very exciting project initiated and by Anett Gregorius of Apartmentservice which has been built in Dortmund and is now nearing completion and will be launched at the end of January 2018
Further reports about the different topics/seminars discussed at SO!Apart will feature on our news hub next week.
